WEDDING CEREMONY

My services for a full wedding ceremony, that I’d typically develop in collaboration with you, and then deliver on your special day include:

  • Full access to my resources and ideas relating to music, readings, cultural and historical traditions, rituals and symbols
  • An obligation-free meeting to discuss the legal requirements of a marriage and the type of wedding ceremony you’re after, so I can go away and draft it
  • A second meeting where we’ll discuss the draft ceremony and attend to the legal documentation. At that meeting, I’ll sight your identification and any other required documents.
  • As many emails and phone calls as you need, to help us draft, shape and polish your ceremony until it’s perfect
  • A rehearsal at the ceremony venue, your home or an alternative venue
  • A professional quality PA audio system so all your guests can hear your ceremony. My sound system has an MP3 player (CD and USB) and mobile phone connectivity so you can amplify any music you want played.
  • A professionally printed marriage certificate
  • A digital copy of the ceremony
  • Completion of all legal paperwork and lodgement with the relevant authorities on your behalf
  • Dressing appropriately to reflect your dress code.

AN ELOPEMENT (LEGALS-ONLY CEREMONY) – MONDAY TO THURSDAYS

This style of ceremony suits couples who want to marry with only me and two witnesses present. I can even arrange the two witnesses, if you wish. There’s a range of reasons people want to elope: they don’t want the fuss or expense of a typical wedding; they may be having a wedding ceremony overseas but it’s unlikely to be recognised legally in Australia; or there’s some heavy family politics going down and they just want to get married.

My services include:

  • An obligation-free meeting to discuss the legal requirements of a marriage and the type of wedding ceremony you’re after, so I can go away and draft it
  • A second meeting where we’ll discuss the draft ceremony and attend to the legal documentation. At that meeting, I’ll sight your identification and any other required documents
  • Conducting your legals-only ceremony
  • A professionally printed marriage certificate
  • A digital copy of the ceremony
  • Taking care of all the legal paperwork and lodging it with the relevant authorities on your behalf
  • Dressing appropriately to reflect your dress code.

 COMMITMENT CEREMONY

Marriage isn’t everyone’s cup of tea! Some people want the fun and excitement of a wedding in front of their friends and family, without the legal paperwork. Members of the LGBTI community are currently forbidden by law from marrying – in Australia – the person they love in. But they sure know how to party! As an out and proudly gay man, I’m a fervent advocate of marriage equality. It’s offensive that so many of us in the LGBTI community are denied rights that are afforded to straight people – check out www.gaycelebrant.melbourne

While we all wait for marriage equality, why not consider a commitment ceremony? It can have the same content as a wedding but without the legal parts.

My services include:

  • Full access to my resources and ideas relating to music, readings, cultural and historical traditions, rituals and symbols
  • An obligation-free meeting to discuss the type of wedding ceremony you’re after, so I can go away and draft it
  • A second meeting where we’ll discuss the draft ceremony
  • As many emails and phone calls as required, to draft, shape and polish your ceremony until it’s perfect
  • A rehearsal at the ceremony venue, your home or an alternative venue
  • A professional quality PA audio system so all your guests can hear your ceremony. My sound system has an MP3 player (CD and USB) and mobile phone connectivity so you can amplify any music you want played.
  • A digital copy of the ceremony
  • Dressing appropriately to reflect your dress code.

  • Full access to my resources and ideas relating to music, readings, cultural and historical traditions, rituals and symbols
  • A second meeting where we’ll discuss the draft ceremony
  • A copy of your vows renewal ceremony.
